On Saturday night, May 24th, officers from the Escondido Police Department participated in a DUI Saturation Patrol. Officers assigned to this detail made 17 traffic stops and conducted 1 Field Sobriety Test, resulting in a DUI arrest. In addition, a single vehicle DUI related collision occurred at about 1:15 AM. The driver was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a broken leg and other injuries he sustained when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree. He was arrested for DUI.
During the evening, a total of 2 drivers were arrested for DUI, and 2 other drivers were cited for being unlicensed or having a suspended license. Two vehicles were impounded.
