Incorporating high resolution SMARTCAM™ units, REDFLEX™ digital red light camera systems automatically identify and record incidents of red light running and are capable of monitoring up to four lanes of traffic simultaneously.

Vehicles are tracked as they travel along each lane and enter the intersection through each traffic light phase or cycle. A digital contextual image of the offending vehicle is captured just prior to the vehicle crossing the stop line and another is recorded after a fixed period of time or distance traveled. A close-up image of the license plate and the driver's face is also recorded. The Redflex photo equipment records 12 seconds of full motion video of the violation, six seconds before and six seconds after the violation.
