On July 19, 2012, at approximately 12:54 PM, the Escondido Police Department Communications Division received an emergency call from a female reporting a kidnapping that had just occurred. Officers responded to the area of South Centre City Parkway and Town Center Avenue and met with the woman.
The woman stated that her son, Emmanuel Cedano, 29-years-old of Escondido, had come to her residence earlier in the day and made threats against her and Emmanuel’s girlfriend. He left the house after a verbal dispute.
Emmanuel Cedano returned several hours later and created another disturbance. This time, Cedano choked his mother and forced both his mother and girlfriend into a vehicle. He made his mother drive.
As the trio was traveling north on Centre City Parkway, Cedano’s mother stalled the vehicle and fled the area. Cedano jumped into the driver’s seat and drove away with his girlfriend. They have not been seen or heard from since.
Cedano is driving a 1992 white, Nissan Pathfinder bearing disabled license plate number 7866WDP. Emmanuel Cedano is described as a Hispanic male adult, 29-years-old. He is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. Cedano has black hair, brown eyes and numerous tattoos.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately. Cedano should be considered armed and dangerous and citizens should not attempt to contact or apprehend him without police assistance.
