At 7:10 PM, 05-14-13, Escondido Police were called to the area of 800 South Orange Street to a report of shots fired.  Initial reports were that a person had been shot in the neck.  Officers arrived on scene approximately three minutes later.  Officers located an adult male suffering from mutiple gunshot wounds.  Emergency first aid was performed and the victim was transported to Palomar Medical Center.  The victim was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. 

Initial reports were that a Hispanic male adult had been seen running from the area immediately after the shooting.  The suspect was last seen running in the vicinity of 13th Avenue and Broadway, wearing blue shorts, a white shirt and a blue ball cap. 

Detectives have been on scene since shortly after the call was received and investigation is on-going.  Anyone with futher information is asked to contact Escondido PD at 760-839-4722.
