On February 10, 2012, the Escondido Police Department was notified about a runaway juvenile. Adan Francisco Marcos, 12 years old of Escondido, was reported to have run away from his school bus while on the way home from Rincon Middle School.
Personnel from the school district reported to police that Adan became upset while at school and said that he did not want to go home. He got on the bus at approximately 2:45 PM on Friday afternoon. Adan did not go home after school and was last seen walking away with another child who got off the bus. The identity of the child with Adan is not known.

Local businesses have been provided flyers and a photograph of Adan and have been asked to contact the police department if he is seen. In addition, the school district has initiated an automated phone call to all Rincon Middle School students in hopes that one of them will be able to assist in locating Adan.
