The Escondido Police Department is actively searching for a missing  61 year old female who is considered at risk.  Maria DeJesus Soto was discovered missing from her home in the area of 1700 East Grand Avenue at approximately 10:00 AM, 05-26-13.  Mrs. Soto has a number of physical ailments and she is legally blind.  Mrs. Soto never leaves her home without a family member and she is unfamiliar with the vicinity beyond her own home.  Mrs. Soto was last seen wearing a light orange blouse, black shorts and sandals.  She wears her brown shoulder length hair in a pony tail and she wears glasses with very thick lenses.  Mrs. Soto only speaks Spanish.  Anyone with information about Mrs. Soto's current whereabouts is asked to contact the Escondido Police Department at 760-839-4722.
