Ruben Anthony Cepeda is wanted for a double-homicide by the Escondido Police Department. He killed his girlfriend and her unborn child.
On Saturday, 04.07.12, at about 7:30 PM, Escondido Police Department responded to a report of a woman who had been shot while in her apartment at 725 N. Fig St. This is an apartment within the Estancia Apartment complex. The first officers arrived about two minutes after receiving the call.
Officers found a pregnant female inside her apartment. The woman (18 years old) had been shot in the torso. She was taken to a local area hospital. Unfortunately, the woman and her unborn child did not recover from being shot- both died at about 8:45 PM.
Detectives are working this double- homicide. They have identified Ruben Anthony Cepeda as a suspect to this crime.
If anyone has information about this case, please contact the Escondido Police Department immediately @ 760.839.4722 regardless of time of day or day of week.
If anyone sees Cepeda, do not approach him and call 911 immediately, as Cepeda must be considered armed and dangerous.
Ruben Anthony Cepeda’s physical characteristics:
- Hispanic Male
- 21 years old
- 5’-8” and about 150 lbs.
- Black hair described as “neat” and brown eyes
Cepeda is known to work in the construction industry.
