On Thursday, October 13,2011, at about 1648 hours, Escondido Police Officers arrested eighteen year old Jose Manuel Ayala, of Escondido, on multiple counts of rape, child molest and burglary. The 12-year-old female victim reported the rape in September of 2011. During the course of their investigation, Escondido Police Detectives received additional information that the victim had been raped and molested several times during a 3 month period. Escondido Police Officers tracked Ayala to the 500 block of N. Fig Street in Escondido, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Ayala was booked into Vista Detention Facility for the following charges:

PC 288(a), Child Molest, (9) counts

PC 288(b)(1), Child Molest by Force of Fear, (6) counts
