FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

This evening, parishioners at Resurrection Church, located at 1445 Conway Drive, were gathering for services. At about 6:45PM, several children began playing in and around a golf cart that is used by church staff that was parked in front of the parish hall.  The cart suddenly started forward, pinning a four year old boy who was in front of the cart against a pillar.  Adults immediately moved the cart backward to free the child. The boy appeared to have been seriously injured, so his parents took him by vehicle toward the hospital. When they were passing the Escondido Police and Fire Headquarters on Centre City Parkway, they stopped and asked for assistance. Paramedics were dispatched and took the child to Palomar Hospital. From there, he was flown to Children’s Hospital.

Traffic Officers were called to the scene to the scene to investigate this accident. Officers Mike Nelson and Scott Christensen are leading the investigation. Anyone with information can call them at 760-839-4407 or 760-839-4962.
