On Monday, September 12, 2011, at about 0115 hours, an unidentified male subject entered an unlocked residence in the 600 Block of South Juniper Street and sexually assaulted an adult female victim.  The victim can only describe the suspect as being approximately 6 feet tall with a medium, solid build.  She said he was possibly in his late 20’s and had large hands.  At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a white shirt and sweat pants.  He spoke with an aggressive tone in a medium to deep voice.  There is no additional information available at this time.

The Escondido Police Department was notified of the crime at about 0900 hours on Wednesday, September 14, 2011.  Detectives from the Family Protection Unit have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.  Detectives have contacted people who live within the neighborhood.  Two persons living at different locations heard what they believed was someone rummaging through trash cans during the time frame of the assault.  Neither saw a suspect or was able to provide any additional information.

The Escondido Police Department is encouraging everyone to practice good crime prevention techniques.  Make sure all windows and doors are locked when going to bed for the evening or leaving your residence.  Always be aware of your surroundings and never hesitate to report suspicious activity to the police department.
