FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact:  Watch Commander, 760-839-4722

On Monday, April 8, 2013, the Escondido Police Department will conduct a Traffic Safety Checkpoint in the City of Escondido.

This checkpoint is an effort to continue the Escondido Police Department’s commitment to traffic safety.  We will be examining driver’s licenses, vehicle registration and proof of insurance of all vehicles passing through the checkpoint. Additionally, we will be looking for any passenger restraint violations, child safety seat violations and mechanical violations which may impair the driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely. These traffic safety checkpoints are utilized to promote compliance with state laws and to ensure traffic safety for all Escondido residents.

To report any suspicious activities in your neighborhood, you may contact the Police Department directly, or you may make an unidentified call on our Anonymous Tip Line at 760-743-TIPS (8477) or via our Web site at police.escondido.org.  For breaking news releases, please follow the Escondido Police Department on Twitter at Escondido_PD.
