At 6:45 AM, June 8, 2013, Escondido Police were notified of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle in the area of 200 West 10th Avenue.  The vehicle, described as a dark colored SUV, possibly a 1990's Isuzu Trooper, fled the scene.  Officers arrived and found a hispanic male adult lying in the roadway unconscious.  The victim was immediately transported to Palomar Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries. It was reported that, just prior to the collision, the victim had been in the company of a female adult, however she was not present when the officers arrived.  The suspect vehicle was last observed eastbound on 10th Avenue.  Anyone with information on this incident is requested to contact the Escondido Police Department Traffic Division at 760-839-4960.
