Summer time is often synonymous with recreation and fun. However in recent years, California has seen an increase in drug-impaired driving crashes. Remember: when you drive impaired, you run the risk of killing yourself or someone else. You will be looking at jail time, the loss of your driver’s license, higher insurance rates, and dozens of other unanticipated expenses ranging from attorney fees, court costs, car or motorcycle towing and repairs, and lost wages due to time off from work. The average DUI costs about $10,000.

To safeguard, you, your livelihood and others, the Escondido Faith Community is uniting their voice with that of the Escondido Police Department, on July 17th, 2018 at 1pm in the EPD Community Room, to ask you to not drive impaired. This initiative was born from ongoing roundtable discussions by the Escondido Police Department and Escondido’s diverse local Faith Community representing more than 24 congregations and faith centers. These discussions started last September when EPD’s Chief of Police, Craig Carter, extended a personal invitation to all local faith leaders to join him in discussing ways they can collaboratively help offset some of our cities greatest needs and help our residents thrive. This organized approach has helped encourage more involvement from our faith groups and their followers to make meaningful, positive changes in Escondido.

If you are you a Faith Community Leader with a heart to see this city transformed for the better, you are welcome to join us! For more information or to RSVP please contact mrodriguez@educationcompact.org
