On Monday, May 21, 2012, at approximately 1618 hours, the Escondido Police Department responded to reports of a stabbing in Grape Day Park near the horseshoe pit area.

Officers arrived and located an adult male victim who appeared to be suffering from stab wounds to his back and right forearm.  The victim was given medical aid at the scene and later transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The victim told police he had been involved in an argument with another man when he was attacked and stabbed.  The victim pointed out his attacker who was only about five feet away from the victim at the time.  Officers detained and later arrested the suspect without incident.

Scott Alan Knight, age 48, of Escondido was later booked into the Vista Detention Facility, charged with assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats, both felony charges.
