On 06-03-11, at approximately 8:46 PM, Escondido Police Communications received a 911 call reporting a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian at the intersection of Centre City Parkway and 13th Avenue.  Officers arrived to find a 16 year-old female had been struck by a 1989 Ford Bronco.  The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was crossing west bound on 13th Avenue against a “don’t walk” signal.  She was struck by the Bronco which was traveling south bound on Centre City Parkway.

The pedestrian suffered serious head injuries and was transported to Palomar Medical Center.

The driver of the Bronco is identified as Angel Ojeda, age 63 of San Ysidro.  The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of family.  No arrests have been made and no citations issued.  Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Officer Mike Guerrero at 760-839-4470.
